Editor,
Today, my next door neighbors who always reminded me how caring and loving they were to their pet cats, all six of them, packed their belongings, moved, and abandoned the poor cats. Yes, they left their family members behind. I am feeding them because according to the Forgotten Felines, kittens and cats left behind usually starve to death, because they don?t know how to hunt or they are killed by people or other animals like foxes and coyotes, and abandoned cats will soon breed and a pair breeding can produce 40 offspring in two years.
Because of changing demographics this trend is growing in Porterville, so the City Fathers will soon have to address this soon to be chaotic problem. Maybe it?s time Porterville created its own Forgotten Felines home, with a no-kill standard. Oh, yes, since I am in the country, another growing problem is a car slowing down, a door opening and a poor little dog being dumped out in the street as the owner drives away, and the poor dog runs after the auto. If you aren?t responsible enough or humane enough to be a pet owner, don?t own pets.
